To access this page you select Filings-Aapproval Automatic Assignment. The screen is titled Auto Assign Filings.
There are times when the court wishes to automatically assign submissions in Clerk Review to a specific clerk, judicial assistant, or judge. The automatic assignment simply bypasses the assign filing step with an automatic assignment. This screen allows you to create rules so that when a submission comes in for Clerk Reveiw that matches the criteria in the rule, that submission will automatically be assigned.
Suppose the court is managing a complex case and one clerk is responsible to process the submissions for that specific case. A rule could be created that assigns all submission on that complex case to one clerk. This does not mean the clerk or user that is automatically assigned to the submission cannot re-assign the submission in the standard Clerk Review interface.
You select the clerk that you want to make the rule for and then the type of rule. Following are a list of options that are the first filter for the rule you create.
Some of these options have secondary filters. For example if the Court Location is selected then a list of locations will be presented and this will be part of the criteria in the rule.
There may be times when you have created several rules and a submission is received that fits more than one rule. In this situation the first rule that was entered will control who the submission is assigned to.
